Celeste strives to create images that rest on the border between beauty and tragedy. Her work is a colorful, childish interpretation of the adult themes of frailty, feelings of loss, and betrayal. Each piece is based on personal experiences. Each piece consists of imagery and symbolism that relate to a specific time in her life, or a poignant memory.
Celeste, originally from Seattle, moved to New York in 2004 to pursue a career in fashion and illustration. After working in the empire state building as a fashion and graphic designer, she now resides in Los Angeles.
She worked briefly as a handbag and graphic designer in Los Angeles, but is now in the process of launching an online art and literature magazine. She is also a self-taught musician. She sings and plays piano when she isn't passionately pursuing the visual arts.
